Looking to invest in a solar panel? I’m sure that you are aware that not everything is how it seems in the world of solar power and for the purpose of this article we will be looking into how solar power is sometimes lauded into the world of mysticism in the modern media. We debunk the truths and reveal all lies!

Solar Panels need to be installed at odd angles

Where did this rumour come from? Many have said that solar panels need to be installed at a 45-degree angle in order to maximize the potential of the sun.  However, it has been proven that installing the panels flush to the roof only loses out on 4-percent of the overall solar gains. This means that whatever the end product is, it will not end up looking like an eyesore. Solar power panels in the past had antiquated ways of capturing the sun and experts advised these awkward angles.

South Facing installation only

Another myth – the panels can be installed anywhere on the South to West angle (east, southeast, south, southwest or west roofs) and the loss of solar power is minimal at best.

Climate Change is never happening

This is a big one and can cause quite a bunch of arguments, as the need for solar geysers South Africa and across the world has been increased by the requirement for energy efficient devices. Nine out of ten climate specialists have said that climate change is happening and when ninety percent of the world’s climate experts are harping on about these changes, you better sit up and take notice! This is why getting into solar power is so important, as without it we will one day have nothing to rely on when the fossil fuels dry up. Solar myths they may be, but for us they are solar fact!
