The Stockholm Water Prize is widely recognised as the world’s most prestigious award for outstanding water-related achievements; in fact it is often described as an environmental equivalent to the Nobel Prize. The award, presented by the Stockholm International Water Institute, recognises the water conservation efforts of individuals and organisations; and the small Mediterranean nation of Malta is overflowing with pride following the announcement that a Maltese water conservation activist has been shortlisted for the Stockholm Water Prize of 2012.
